New B.A.S.S. National Championship Format and Qualifiers

As a result of the new format that B.A.S.S. National introduced at the latest National Championship, PA B.A.S.S. Nation has changed their qualification format for the 2023 season effective immediately.

The new PA B.A.S.S. Nation format will consist of 4 state tournaments; fees for these events will remain the same. Your three (3) best finishes will count for your AOY points.  This format will be used for both boater and non-boater divisions. At the conclusion of the fourth and final event, AOY points will be tallied. The top four (4) boater and non-boaters will receive invitations directly to the 2024 B.A.S.S. National Championship. We will work down the list of AOY points if need be to fill these eight (8) positions. These eight (8) positions will receive financial compensation from PABN to attend this event.

The Last Chance event has been eliminated. The fourth and final state event will be held on the 3 Rivers, utilizing the Harmarville Ramp.  This event will be Saturday July 29, 2023, permit pending.

Starting in 2024, B.A.S.S. will be hosting four (4) regional qualifiers throughout the country.  These tournaments will be open events to only Nation members and will be a capped 250 boat field, each event will be a 3-day format.  From each of these events, the top 20 boaters and 20 co-anglers will move on to the 2024 B.A.S.S. National Championship.  You can fish one of these events or all four, you only need to finish in the top 20 at one of them to move on. PABN has been given 10 boater and 10 non-boater priority entries into our region’s open event.  These priority entries will be given to the anglers wishing to participate in the event based off the previous years AOY points from 2023.  Meaning, 5th through 14th place on each side would be offered these priority entries and if they are not wanted we will move down the list until accepted. This essentially gives you a second chance to qualify for the National Championship.

B.A.S.S. Nation has advised each state that the entry fee for these open qualifiers will be $400 on the boater side and $200 on the co-angler side.  The payout for these events is to be determined as per B.A.S.S.  The 2024 National Championship will be a 250 boat field.  The dates and location are to be determined.
